From a young age, I have been profoundly passionate about the craft of visual storytelling. I am now accepting commissions for illustrations, as well as opportunities for events, workshops, and personalized education.

Hello, I am

Lula Lukas

ABOUT

I'm an artist, educator, and creative guide whose work draws from the bold, vivid energy of 90s comic book art while exploring storytelling, mindfulness, and our connection to nature.

A self-taught artist working across traditional and digital mediums, I began my professional art career in 2018. In 2020, I created a published Vampirella variant cover for Dynamite Entertainment, which led to appearances at New York Comic Con and Rhode Island Comic Con.

Teaching and inspiring the next generation of creators has become an important extension of my work. I returned to my former elementary school, PS 48 in Brooklyn, where I shared my journey with fifth-grade students and introduced them to drawing, animation, filmmaking, storytelling, and comics.

I also work with youth organizations and community groups through hands-on creative programs. Most recently, I was invited to lead a Girl Scouts comic book badge program, guiding young creators through the process of developing characters, visual storytelling, and their own comic book ideas.

My work has also been featured in exhibitions and creative projects, including:

  • Bergdorf Goodman, as part of the Kaleidoscope Project
  • The Power of Parchment at Gritworks Gallery in Newburgh, New York
  • Art with Horses at Equines for Healing, where I guided participants through meditation, coloring, sketching, and storytelling inspired by the grounding presence of horses

Today, my work continues to move between art, education, storytelling, and mindfulness. I teach art and yoga privately and through schools, youth organizations, and community programs, creating experiences that encourage people of all ages to explore their creativity and develop confidence in their own ideas.
